FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS

  • Do you accept Insurance?
We accept Highmark BCBS plans and HSA. Even if your insurance is not accepted, you can submit your invoice to your insurance for possible reimbursement through out of network benefits.
  • Where does therapy take place?
We currently see clients in our main office on W-F and see patients at the Dentistry for Kids on Mondays. We also see clients in the home, school, and teletherapy setting.
  • What ages do you treat?
We treat oral function across the lifespan! (Newborn- adults)
  • How can therapy help with orthodontic work?
Often times therapy is recommended in conjunction with orthodontic treatment. This is because the way we use the muscles in our face affects the way the teeth and our jaws form and develop. Therapy helps ensure the mouth is functioning well so that the teeth stay in place.
  • How does the tongue play a role in body posture?
Your tongue acts as a support system through fascial line that reaches right down to your toes! Low tongue posture can lead to postural imbalances, head and neck pain and tension throughout the body.
  • Can therapy resolve TMJ discomfort?
Many times the root cause of jaw pain stems from muscle dysfunction in the face and mouth. When we do not use the correct muscles to eat, talk, and breathe, it can cause overuse and fatigue.
  • When is it a good idea to get a feeding evaluation?
If mealtimes are stressful for you, your child, or your family, it's a good idea to reach out for support!
  • Isn't picky eating normal?
It's true that picky eating can be developmentally appropriate for toddlers. But studies show that 1 out of 4 typically developing kids don't just grow out of it on their own! If your child eliminates an entire category of food, has less than 20 foods in their diet, has rigid behaviors around foods (prefers only certain brands or food prepared in a specific way), or if eating becomes stressful for you and your child, it is worthwhile to consult with a feeding specialist.
